Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program - Earned Income Tax Credit

Did you or your family earn less than $49,078 in 2011? Then, you may be eligible to receive a tax credit of up to $5,751 this year.

The Earned Income Tax Credit, or EITC, provides tax credits to working adults and families with low to moderate incomes. The average EITC refund is more than $1,000 per family—even single working adults and married couples without children are eligible.

Receive government benefits like Social Security, welfare, or unemployment benefits, or other income like child support or alimony? You are still eligible because these are not considered earned income.

More than 100,000 eligible individuals in North Carolina fail to claim EITC each year, leaving more than $100 million dollars unclaimed. Can you afford to leave money you have earned unclaimed? Wouldn’t it be nice to have some extra money in your pocket this year to pay bills, pay for education, or save for a home?

For more information about EITC or to see if you qualify, contact CCCS today. If your family has a combined income of less than $50,000, call CCCS to make an appointment with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance(VITA) professionals to file your tax returns for FREE!

Call CCCS today at 1 (888) 381-3720 or (910) 323-3192.
